Specialists in high quality and ergonomically designed office furniture, are looking for an entrepreneurial and commercially driven Regional Sales Manager to head up their Johannesburg branch. 

General Summary:
The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for leading, guiding, motivating and managing around 40 employees, including the sales team, admin, general office and warehousing / operations in order to ensure our operational goals, standards and requirements are met, thereby keeping our Johannesburg branch competitive and innovative in the regional market. 

Job description:
  • Works with Head Office in establishing growth, sales, and profit objectives for the branch; provides input to these objectives to the way performance will be measured and controlled.
  • Making competent commercial decisions in-line with branch budget to meet financial targets as agreed
  • Responsibilities will include developing appropriate short, medium- and long-term strategies to grow our market share and make the business profitable.
  • Ensures that the branch is properly staffed, assists in the selection of new personnel as appropriate and makes certain that all employees are adequately trained both with respect to product knowledge and selling techniques to meet customer service needs as well as sales objectives.
  • Organizes the work among assigned employees and provides leadership, training and supervision to ensure proper executions of tasks to meet company's goals.
  • Proactively generates new customers while maintaining existing sales and ensures a high standard of sales organisation and administration.
  • Develops strategic sales plans, assigns sales territory to Sales Consultants and set sales targets for each Consultant.
  • Directs sales activities and monitors performance of the Sales Representatives to meet the goals set.
  • Responsible for evaluating Sales consultants work performance, monitors quality of service rendered through customer feedback as well as client service reports and ensures that Sales Consultants are maximizing opportunities to sell products.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills to effectively uncover and resolve complex customer and employee issues.
  • Prepare and propose forecast of sales / revenue to predict short- and long-term performance of team and other reporting as required by Head office in Cape Town.
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competitor status.
Minimum requirements:
  • A tertiary education is required preferably within the Sales/Marketing/Communications
  • Min 10 years experience with 5 years being branch / sales team management experience
  • Office furniture or aligned industry experience is advantageous
  • Knowledge of sales process
  • Proven track record of achieving targets and increasing revenue
  • Strong entrepreneurial and commercial acumen with an innate drive to deliver results.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process through sales teams.
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
