Group Chief Financial Officer (Investment Division)
Location:  Hillcrest Durban
Reporting to: Group Finance Director Investment Division
Direct reports: 2 Direct 10-15 Indirect
Salary:  Market related dependent upon experience

Purpose of the Role:

  • To maximise the family wealth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively manage the Treasury function
  • Investments of family wealth
  • Responsible for Offshore investments and structures
  • Recommending and Influencing to shareholders on strategic decisions with respect to investment decisions and tax structures
  • Inspecting and understanding the financial state of various businesses from operational (short-term) and strategic perspectives (long-term)
  • Ensure controls are in place to safe-guard the business
  • Improve profitability of the business
  • Building business cases

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • Relevant Post Grad / CA(SA) preferable
  • Minimum 10 years working experience (post articles commercial experience)
  • Strong experience in Tax
  • Ability to assess complex situations and use creativity to solve problems
  • High level of business acumen
  • Sound analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to debate in a constructive manner and challenge conventional wisdom
  • Ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks within strict timeframes within a fast-paced environment
