Asset verification:

  • Physical verification of fixed and intangible assets. (Physical to book and book to physical)
  • Assist in the development of annual verification plan to ensure the cyclical verification of assets in line with Company and Group policies
  • Assist in the design and implementation of verification methodologies that are suitable for the nature of Company  assets
  • Manage the physical count of assets and or physical asset tagging of non-serialised site equipment where necessary.
  • Conduct routine site inspection visits
  • Reconciliation of asset counts with the Fixed Asset Registers.
  • Update of the fixed asset register records in line with verification results including standardisation of asset naming convention
  • Prepare asset verification report identifying exceptions identified and action plan to address the exceptions
  • Adherence and continuous monitoring of the physical verification procedures

Asset tracking:

  • Manage mobile application access and administration.
  • Action and manage data received through the application and other physical verification databases.
  • Periodic integration of the fixed asset register locations and asset movement update in line with feedback from mobile app and other sources
  • Automation of physical verification.
  • Manage the inter-site asset transfers and asset write offs ensure proper approvals are obtained
  • Maintain and update the user assignment of IS end-user devices to ensure that assets are allocated to the correct individual

Fixed asset register maintenance:

  • Maintain asset classification.
  • Redefine parent and child relationships where it will lead to improved asset management.
  • Identification of impairment indicators.
  • Update and align site location details with site on air reports or any other network management system
  • Convene periodic discussions with regional site managers to ascertain whether there were any assets movement not accounted for
  • Obtain quarterly declaration from network regional managers certifying that all site asset movement have been accounted for

Insurance declaration:

  • Complete the yearly and ad hoc insurance declaration and submit to the Fixed Asset manager.
  • Determine and declare the carrying value of the different classes of assets that need to be insured.
  • Determine the replacement value of predefined asset classes.
  • Handle all queries from the insurance department related to fixed assets

Critical skills:

  • Solid experience on asset management
  • Previous exposure on fixed asset verification, especially in the mobile telecommunication environment
  • Ability to work with large volumes of data with advance excel techniques
  • Ability to perform reconciliations between various data sources
  • Ability to initiate and successfully complete a project plans and ability to manage and priority workload

Education/Experience:

  • B. Com (Accountancy)
  • Basic knowledge of telecommunications and the working of network equipment
  • Excellent reconciliation experience
  • Previously involved with asset verification projects
